Anchor & Hops

We're Anchor & Hops, an independent craft beer bar in Stockton Heath, Warrington. The bar is run by Chris and Stu. Between us we spend an unhealthy amount of time drinking, talking shit and thinking about beer, and figuring out what actually deserves a place on the taps or in the fridges of dreams.

We've got eight rotating draught lines and hundreds of cans and bottles, all kept properly so the beer tastes how it should. You'll find everything from crisp lagers and hazy pales through to juicy IPAs, big stouts, sharp sours, smoothies, and a good mix of Belgian and German classics.

There's a bit more space upstairs if you want somewhere quieter, plus board games and cards available if you fancy settling in for a while. Out the back there's a small yarden that comes into its own when the sun shows up. Dogs are always welcome too.

Whether you know your beer or not, we'll help you find something good to drink. In the end, it's simple. Good beer and good people.

But here’s the thing… As lovely as the classic Munich Oktoberfest beers are, there’s only so many slightly different versions of the same lager you can drink before thinking “fuck me, I’d murder a bit of variety.” 💁🏻‍♂️ So this year, we’re messing with tradition. 🎃 HALLOWEEN AT A&H 🎃 It’s happening again. Costumes on, dignity off. Friday 30th October we’re having ourselves a proper A&H Halloween night — fancy dress, stupid behaviour and an unnecessarily good selection of beer. 💀🍺 And all being well, we’ll have Rivington’s Evil Dead series pouring on draught — normally a trio of suitably evil beers that seem fairly fucking appropriate for the occasion. 👌🏽 We’ll be adding a few more scary-ass beers to the lineup too, because apparently putting normal beer on the taps at Halloween shows a complete lack of commitment.
